In That Wordless Place

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ~ Washington Irving

Today is the 13th anniversary of my mother’s death. Bittersweet, yes – were I to put it perhaps too tritely. I’ll just say it remains as profound today as it was back then. One of those timeless things. Anyway, it’s got part of me all wrapped up in that wordless place, then there’s a smaller part of me that has to go to work today. Just thought I’d say hi.

All is well. Goof gloriously.
